Ten strangers with a dark past are lured to isolated Indian Island off the coast of England by an unknown man, Mr. Owen. A violent storm prevents them from leaving and the guests find themselves watching each other get picked off one by one according to an old nursery rhyme that is hung prominently in each room.

The plot is so full of unexpected twists and turns, that I was constantly trying to figure what was next. The character development is simply amazing. The murders and reasoning were so disturbing it was mind-blowing and insane.

The book starts off very slowly describing each of the ten characters and bits of their past in a very detailed way, which took some time.

After I read the book, I wanted to go back and read it again. Knowing the ending made me more aware of just how intricate the puzzle of a plot was constructed.
