Summary of this Book...
This is a fantastic natural cleaning reference and how-to book and my new favorite book on housekeeping. I just finished reading through it today and I'm actually looking forward to rereading it and implementing the ideas as I go. It includes great action items and information, including: "The Toxic Ten and Whole Home Swaps", "Kick-Start Weekend Detox," a room-by-room action plan (with DIY cleaning recipes for each room as well as recommendations for effective natural cleaning products you can buy), and an overview of her standard daily and weekly cleaning plans. There are also a lot of great tips throughout. For example, instead of using traditional car deodorizers/scenters, you can just put a drop of essential oil on a cotton ball and put that under a car seat.

Clean my whole home. Sadly, I'm supposed to be on bed rest for a while, so it'll have to wait. I hope I can maintain the excitement once I'm actually able to get back to work.

Further Comments... | ||
Caveat: It's a lot to digest, so feels a bit overwhelming at first. I think it'll be worth the effort to make the changes she recommends though. Thankfully, I do a lot of them already. But for someone totally used to relying on traditional products, it might be downright scary to think of all the work ahead. Notes: I borrowed the copy I just finished reading from my local library, but I'm probably going to buy a copy for home reference. I already own two of her other books, which were great, but I think this is her best yet because of the focus on getting toxins out and maximizing the healthfulness of our home environment. I had to use the Kindle code for this review because I didn't see one for the paperback version, but it was the paperback version that I read.
