Summary of this Book...
This is indeed an "exciting thriller" and it did keep me turning pages to find out what would happen next. It's the story of how Miranda Cooper deals with a set of unusual and unexpected threats and risks her life to save her family. In the end, her husband's previous actions determine their fate and that part is an even bigger surprise than all the action that came beforehand.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like a fast-paced story with a lot of action and are willing to suspend belief.
I especially liked... | ||
Miranda's growth, something that I'd think would be particularly hard to portray in such a fast-paced story. The message at the end (I don't want to blow the story... so don't read any further unless you don't mind that). -- -- -- I liked that Miranda's love for her husband didn't turn out to be misplaced, and that he came out as a good guy in the end. I really loved the end of the book's message of kindness triumphing over evil and the unexpected ending.
I didn't like... | ||
There's no mother I know personally that would have left her four year old child alone in a cave with a guy who's in and out of consciousness, even if he is her father. You have to be conscious to keep a child safe. My mom would have carried us up a mountain herself if she had to but she would not have left us alone. A lot of the drama was unrealistic. It was exciting if you suspended belief but I had to do a lot of belief suspending. I don't expect to have to do that with non-paranormal novels set in modern time. But I still enjoyed the book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Go to bed. Mostly because I stayed up late to finish it. I just couldn't go to sleep in the middle of all that action.
This Book made me feel...
Like celebrating strong women, faithful people, kind people and like I was on an adventure myself.
The author of this Book...
From Amazon: "James Patterson has written more bestsellers and created more enduring fictional characters than any other novelist writing today. He lives in Florida with his family. Shan Serafin is a Los Angeles-based writer who began his career with his first novel, Seventeen, before adding screen work to his repertoire and eventually collaborating with Mr. Patterson."
