“Dog Songs” by Mary Oliver is a book of poetry about her dogs. It is short, but oh so touching. Many of the poems I could personally relate to, and I’m sure others who have loved an animal would feel the same connection. I actually read and re-read this book back to back because it was short enough, and I wanted to immediately enjoy it again. The audiobook version is read by the author, which is an extra special treat. My only complaint is that I wish the book was longer! Overall, a lovely and emotional collection of poetry.
