Summary of this Book...
This is the exciting fourth book (and conclusion) in Sala's "Jigsaw Files" series, which features Charlie Dodge and Jade Wyrick. In this book a religious cult is looking to exterminate Jade because they believe she's an abomination. At the same time, Jade and Charlie are in a race to save a kidnap victim from a serial killer. About the first two thirds of the book are heavily action packed and the rest is a bit slower but it works as a finale to this otherwise action-packed series. I don't think I could have pulled off a romance of this nature but Sala did it well. I always love her heroic characters and hate the evil ones. Yet she still makes them realistic, for the most part (just one exception in the criminal element in this book, in my opinion).
This type of Book is good for...
People who like suspense, mystery, crime, romance, drama, and/or a good story. I do recommend reading this series in order for the best experience though. I think if you start with this book, it won't be as meaningful and you won't appreciate Jade or Charlie as much as if you started with book one.
I especially liked... | ||
Jade. I just love Jade. I love how unusual she is. How brilliant she is. How matter of fact she can be. How humble and kind she can be. How she's both strong to the world and vulnerable only with Charie. I love Charlie, Rachel, Millie, Bethie... so many characters in this book. But definitely Jade the most. And Rachel's strength and determination. I admired her so much. I love how Sala really draws me into her stories and makes me feel like I'm part of everything.
I didn't like... | ||
I think the violence level could have been a little less graphic and still have gotten the message across. One criminal... just reminded me of someone I know who is a sociopath. And no way would the person I know have just let things go and moved on with his life, accepting blame for his part in things. I find it difficult to believe that the criminal would either. But.. Jade could definitely have managed him if he had continued coming after her so it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read another Sharon Sala book. Thankfully she's got a sweet one coming out soon.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was Jade (or with her) and living her adventure.
