Summary of this Book...
This is a novel advent devotional and story collection. There's an entry a day for December 1st - 25th and an epilogue that you could read on the 25th or 26th to extend the reading. It's unique in that the author not only included a traditional verse, devotional and prayer, but also added a short creative story about the scene being focused on each day, seeing the events through the eyes of real Bible characters as imagined by the author, who did a lot of research to make it as realistic as possible and true to history. I enjoyed it and am glad I read it. Note: The kindle version is only $2.99 at the time of writing, much less than the paper version.
This type of Book is good for...
Christians, people interested in the birth of Jesus, people interested in history, people who like historical short stories and vignettes, people who like Scripture, prayer, and/or the Lord.
I especially liked... | ||
The stories. I think that's what made this stand out so much from other advent books I've read in the past.
I didn't like... | ||
Sometimes her creative license went a little further than I would have preferred. That you need to read the epilogue for the whole story.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Pray. I think I prayed after each devotional.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was seeing the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ through historical eyes.
