Summary of this Book...
I was so excited to start reading this third instalment of the Marlow Murder Club, and it didn’t disappoint. A crisp, clever plot written with humour and imagination. The murderer is an act of genius. I never thought it would be them. The characters feel like friends. As soon as you start reading them, they feel familiar and comfortable. In this novel, Marlow’s mayor, Geoffrey Lushington, is murdered during a council meeting. But who would want to murder this man when everyone who knows him says he was the nicest man ever? An in a room with five other people? Judith, Suzie and Becks are asked to help out the police on catching the killer, and they bring their usual mixture of smart, funny and just plain crazy. And I say that in a loving way. Watch out for the ending — it’s so exciting! All I'm gonna say on that.
This type of Book is good for...
People who love cozy mysteries. People who like well-written, well-rounded characters. Anyone who loved the first two Marlow Murder books. Also, those who like Richard Osman's 'Thursday Murder Club' series. These writers are very similar.
I especially liked... | ||
Suzy. She is so funny. I love how she acts first, think later. She always acts on her heart, and immediately. The plot was clever. I liked that, too. Especially, the reveal of the murderer.

It took me a little slower to get into this than his first two books. But, once I was there, I didn't put it down.

Read another Marlow book. But there aren't any new ones now. I wanted to chat to my hubby about this book because he introduced me to these books, but he hasn't read it yet.
