Summary of this Book...
Bridget Jones is a single woman in her 30s. She has a good circle of friends, but her love life could be better and her career could certainly do with improvement. Everything changes when Daniel, her attractive boss, returns her flirtations. She is swept off her feet and who cares about this Mark Darcy who she keeps bumping into? Except, Daniel isn't as great as he seems. Now she's without a boyfriend, has to find a new career, not to mention that her family is falling apart...
This type of Book is good for...
readers who love romance and comedy. There is plenty to laugh about here.
I especially liked... | ||
I liked that Bridget is someone who you can relate to. She worries about things many women worry about. She is flawed, but also endearing. She makes mistakes, but you can understand why. Sometimes you want to warn her because you can see she's going to end up in trouble, but when it's you going through it in real life there are no warning signs.
I didn't like... | ||
Bridget worries a lot about her weight, but she is actually not that heavy. It's realistic, because many women worry about their weight when they don't have to, but it's also kind of sad.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
To read the next book in the series. That is a good sign!
This Book made me feel...
Like I had made some new friends. I could relate to Bridget and her gang. They are well-written, realistic characters.
I recommend this Book because...
It made me smile and laugh. Many books are super serious, with lots of drama, but whilst Bridget has her ups and downs I mostly felt cheered, and that's just what you need sometimes. It also has a happy ending.
Further Comments... | ||
I liked how this books was written as a diary. It not only worked for the character and the story line, but also to draw you into it more. It was easy to think 'just one more entry. Just one more.' And before you know it you've finished the book!
