Summary of this Book...
Animal Farm is a story about an animal rebellion against humans because of their downtrodden and cruel treatment. It describes the life of the humans and animals before the rebellion and shows how after the rebellion the animals are treated. History is changed, then it is lost, and the realization of what happened and the future of the animals is revealed in a stark and unnerving manner. Lessons are abundant to be learned and remembered about this story. History is an important factor within the plot and how it is twisted shows what a future can be when memories are lost. Worse yet is when there is no recall of memories to show the past so the past is not repeated. This book explains how and why history repeats itself. At the end there is a resemblance to the beginning.
This type of Book is good for...
This book shows how societies can and do get into trouble because misinformation is believed, truth is lost, and apathy rains supreme. Learning compassion for animals is shown, reasons for literacy and understanding is explained, and how humans and animals can work together is also part of the possibilities within this story.
I especially liked... | ||
I liked the way the story shows the steps taken by the humans and animals to make things different and yet after many years things are not changed but they are the same in different characters and dress.
I didn't like... | ||
The worst of this story is the way propaganda is used to change a bright and wonderful future into a more bleak and terrible living in the now and facing a worse future.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to be kind to the mistreated animals in this story. They did not deserve to be mistreated and taken advantage of every day and night.
This Book made me feel...
I felt concerned because people often react like these animals. I don't want the truth of history to be lost. I felt like taking care of these animals the way they should be well taken care of.
The n/a of this Book... | ||
This book is also about how history is told in a fictional way based on actual events. It is sad that in this book history is allowed to repeat itself similar to what happens in real life.
I recommend this Book because...
This book is worth reading and rereading because humans can learn about history and what to see and respond to to make positive changes for the better.
I don't recommend this Book because...
A mature person regardless of age can benefit from reading this book, however immaturity might misunderstand this book. Some of the scenes might require a box of tissue.
Further Comments... | ||
The end of this looms large for me. I can not get the image out of my mind that the words created. A lot of the details of the book resonate with me and I hope I can make a positive difference for people.
