Summary of this Book...
I'd never read this book before, but I've had it for years, so I decided to give it a go. And my impression was ... distinctly underwhelming. Dorian Gray has his portrait painted, and he makes a kind of deal with the devil so that his picture will take on the ageing process in lieu of Dorian Gray getting older. However, in true gothic horror style, the painting not only grows old, but it becomes hideous and evil. Dorian Gray's life becomes one of debauchery and acts that are outside of the law (like murder). Honestly, I can't remember a lot of the book. It just didn't interest me that much. I get that it is a classic, a clever idea that is well-executed (for the time). It just wasn't really for me.
