Summary of this Book...
This is the follow up to Camino Island, which I very much enjoyed. We are back in Florida with Bruce Cable and his band of writers. This story begins just as Hurricane Leo hits the island. Most people evacuate, but Bruce, Bob Cobb, Nick and Nelson Kerr remain behind. Bruce, Nick and Bob all make it through the storm okay, but when they check on Nelson, they find him dead on his patio. Trying to make the police understand that it was murder proves difficult, as this murder was carried out at the perfect time. What injuries are due to flying tree limbs in the storm, and what are down to a blunt object, purposely wielded?

Once they realise the murderer was a hit woman, they realise they could be in danger, Bruce, in particular, as he has been left as executor for Nelson’s literary estate and his latest novel which is yet to be published. And, whoever ordered the hit really doesn't want the book published. So what is in this book that has got Nelson killed?

We see the three men and those they pay for help investigate the murder as they uncover a nationwide cover-up.

If I’m honest, it took me a while to get into this book. Which was odd because I already knew the characters and the setting, and I really enjoyed the previous book. But this one seemed a little slow to begin with. It did get more exciting with everything that comes to light through the story. As with the previous book, though, the solution was kind of a fizzle, rather than a bang.

Overall, I'd give this 3 1/2 stars, rather than 3.
This type of Book is good for...
Mystery/thriller lovers. Grisham fans.
I especially liked...
Grisham's writing. It is so easy to fall inside it. He described the hurricane and the after-effects and devastation wonderfully well. I could picture everything really well.
I didn't like...
The pace seemed a bit slow.
This Book made me feel...
Intrigued. Shocked. Angry. Sad. Hooked.
The author of this Book...
John Grisham. Master of legal thrillers.
I recommend this Book because...
It's an intriguing story. I wonder if it had a basis in the truth. Quite possibly.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's not a fast-paced ride.
