Summary of this Book...
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was actually a lot better than I anticipated. Charlotte has a car accident. Unfortunately, this leads to her losing her memory of the last four years. She thinks she is still a stunningly successful pitcher for a pharma company, married to David and leading a dazzling, exciting life. She does not remember discovering she is pregnant, or giving birth to Anabelle. She doesn’t remember her daughter’s heart defect or the surgery and months of being terrified for her daughter’s life. And she definitely doesn’t remember giving up work to be a full time mum. That was never in her plan. But, somehow, this is her life, and she is thrown straight back into it, all the while discovering her relationship with David is at breaking point. I loved seeing the two timeframes for Charlotte. She has diary extracts that she has kept before the accident, and the present is in the present tense. I didn’t understand why Charlotte couldn’t find her diary in the present and find out what happened through that. Because she didn’t hide it, and she looked everywhere to find clues for who she was. All in all, though, a thoroughly good read.

The author of this Book...
Leah Mercer. From Amazon: "Leah Mercer was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada. By the age of thirteen, she’d finished her first novel and received very encouraging rejections from publishers. Leah put writing on hold to focus on athletics, achieving provincial records and becoming a Canadian university champion in the 4 × 400-metre relay. After getting her BA, she turned to writing again, earning a masters in journalism. A few years later she left Canada and settled in London, where she now lives with her husband and their young son. Leah also writes under the name Talli Roland, and her books have been shortlisted at the UK’s Romantic Novelists’ Association Awards."
