Summary of this Book...
Fundamental theories of physics and where physics is now headed.
I especially liked... | ||
How all of a sudden Calculus made sense. Well, I understood Calculus, but now I understand what they use it for.
I didn't like... | ||
Well, I was hoping he would come to the conclusion that time-travel could be possible, but oh well. No big loss.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read it again. I have read it a couple times now.
This Book made me feel...
very small. I don't see how astro-physicists can think about the size of the universe all day, everyday. I would go crazy.
The author of this Book...
Is brilliant! Not only is he a good scientists, but he has also been able to express his theories and research in ways that the common man can understand. In fact, the second time I read it I gloated in the fact I could skip over some parts I already understood well.
I recommend this Book because...
When I was in high school I felt like math and science not only didn't make sense but also were not useful to me. This really turned me around, and things I remember studying in science class way back when started to make sense.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you never took physics or calculus, this book may be over your head or you may have to read it a couple times. But in genreal, if one has had a good liberal arts education, one should be able to pick up on the basic concepts.
Further Comments... | ||
A must-have for your science library.
