This book is written by another animal writer. This dog is very good at weaving a yarn and keeping you wanting to read. He has a sense of humor that would rival most humans and I'm sure if he were a member of Stories.Com, The Milkman would be highlighting him in his Comedy Newsletter.




The story is about a rabbit who was found in a movie theater, and why Chester, the well read cat thinks he is a vampire. This is a very entertaining story and with this excerpt I'm sure you'll run right out and buy this book for your kids.




I shall never forget the first time I laid these now tired old eyes on our visitor. I had been left home by the family with the admonition to take care of the house until they returned. That's something they always say to me when they go out: "Take care of the house, Harold. You're the watchdog." I think it's their way of making up for not taking me with them. As if I wanted to go anyway. You can't lie down at the movies and still see the screen. And people think you're being impolite if you fall asleep and start to snore, or you scratch yourself in public. No thank you, I'd rather be stretched out on my favorite rug in front of a nice, whistling radiator.




See what I mean, wasn't that excellent writing?

I thought his humor was a refreshing change to a Mystery story.




Also his description, from his point of view, were very good.

I wanted to swish my tail, moo and wake up all the neighbors. I feel everyone with kids should read this book. What a great way to spend an evening.

This book made me feel like working on another mystery story.

The humans behind this book are Deborah and James Howe but the real talent is Harold the mixed breed dog.

Because this book is entertaining with the wit and the wonderful illustrations.
