Summary of this Book...
Meet Francis Dolarhyde, A.K.A. the "Tooth Fairy," and later, just the Dragon. Dolarhyde is a serial killer, he targets families, kills them, and records what he does for his own twisted amusement. Meet Will Graham, a detective whose job it is to find and stop the Dragon. The story is dramatic, and it briefly brings Hannibal Lecter into a novel for the first time.
I especially liked... | ||
This was a great and superior book. What I liked best about it was how Harris submerges the reader into the mind of the serial killer. Then, the book turns around and gives the reader how the detectives go about catching the killer. The forensics descriptions in this novel are fantastic.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
After I finished reading this book I wanted to be a little more careful about some of the people I talk to. I began to wonder just exactly what it was that people were really thinking.
The author of this Book...
This author has written a total of four books, all of which I intend to read in the future. The first he wrote was called "Black Sunday," which is about an assassination during Super Bowl Sunday. "Red Dragon" is the first in the Hannibal Lecter series. It is followed by ""Invalid Item" ," and "Hannibal." All of these are bestsellers and I expect they are very good work.
I recommend this Book because...
If you are planning on watching the movie when it comes out, the movie will not ruin you for the book when you read it. I saw "Manhunter," which is an older version of this book, but it does not go by the story within the novel very well. So the new movie that is coming out is supposed to be a big improvement over the old movie, so read the book first if possible, then enjoy the movie.
Further Comments... | ||
Notice I gave this book a usefulness rating. Though this may seem strange because this book is not any kind of reference book, it will change the way you think, guaranteed.
