Summary of this Book...
This book begins in a quiet neighborhood, where a young girl names Laurie is kidnapped from her own driveway. Two years later, after possibly being found out, her captures let her go, leaving her at a school, where she wouldn't be noticed until they could get far away.

At the age of 21, Laurie Kenyon is a college student, and has grown into a wonderful person, despite her childhood trauma, which she still can't remember clearly. When her English professor is found murdered, Laurie's hand prints are on everything, yet she doesn't remember commiting the crime. Sarah Kenyon, a attorney on the rise to greatness quits her job and begins to defend Laurie. Sarah knows that there is still something wrong with her sister, since returning to their home, Laurie has never been quite the same. In an effort to save her sister, Sarah discovers, that her sister has developed multiple personalities. Only which one, if any, or her personalities committed the crime? Meanwhile, Laurie's kidnappers are still out there, keeping on eye on her to make sure that she doesn't remember, and keeps their identities a secret.
I especially liked...
I liked the twist with Laurie having multiple personalities. It was strange to see so many different people or personalities combined into one person, and how they cope and react with each other. It made this part of the story interesting.
I didn't like...
I love books where once you start reading, you just can't stop. Or can't wait to come home so you can become inthralled in the plot once more. For this book, however, I didn't feel the same urge to continue.
The author of this Book...
Mary Higgans Clark is a wonderful mystery writer, and I would recommend all of her books. Although, this one is definitely not one of her best.
Further Comments...
Although my opinion of this book isn't altogether positive. It is only my opinion. Here are some of the praise this book recieved:

-"Brimming with dramatic story twists...A stunning climax...story and suspense make ALL AROUND THE TOWN the engrossing, attention-holding book it is."

-Pittsburgh Press

"Mary Higgins Clark pushes buttons we never dreamed we had...this is suspenseful stuff, handled with absolute authority."
