Summary of this Book...
Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit from the Shire who, with a group of dwarves and Gandalf, a wizard, embarks on a journey to the Lonely Mountain to defeat Smaug, the dragon, and recover the dwarves treasure, which is guarded by Smaug. They spend a month traveling from the Shire to the Lonely Mountain, meeting very colorful, and dangerous, characters on the way.
I especially liked... | ||
The descriptions. Tolkien describes the enviroment in this story better than any writer I have ever read. You can almost see yourself on a terrace in Rivendell overlooking the river, or facing the giant spiders in the Mirkwood. Also, the plot of the story is so original and the way that he created an entirely different world from our own, complete with magical civilizations and even languages that he invented himself.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Live in Hobbiton. The way he describes the peacefulness in Bag End, a little hobbit-hole (which despite its being a hole it's very comfortable) is incredible.
This Book made me feel...
envious that Middle Earth doesn't exist. It would be wonderful if a world like that existed.
The author of this Book...
Is definitely my favorite writer. I admire his style and creativity and how he can add humor to a serious situation,like war.
I recommend this Book because...
It transports you to a magical world like no other, and I hope that many people read it.
