Summary of this Book...
In the year 2052, a man called Colin Blakeney has his home being attacked by rioters who disapprove of his advances with the transporter system, it would appear that another man thinks the transporter kills a person, yet he's very wrong.

So Blakeney decides to test himself on his new invention, but just before he can activate his transporter, someone attacks him and Blakeney attacks back, throwing himself and his attacker into the transporter and disappearing, his home exploding seconds later.

2375: The Enterprise-E and her crew are given orders to help with a race called the Palami, it seems that they're appearing to get ready to start a war, which is not what the Federation needs as it's already fighting the Dominion and another war would destablise the Federation, destroying it totally.

On the way there, they intercept an odd transporter beam and beam aboard...Colin Blakeney. But where's his attacker? Plus Blakeney's memories seem fragmented, he seems to be in a constant loop of memories. Will he manage to restore his memory and also will the crew of the Enterprise manage to make the Palami back down before the Federation is engulfed in another war?
I especially liked...
The art work is excellent, I'm not sure if it's pastel or oil paints, but it's beautiful art work. The Enterprise looks amazing like this and the characters are really well painted, you can even see the colours of their eyes in the bigger pictures. Excellent work. The story itself isn't too bad either, the best bits are the bits with Blakeney and Crusher and Data's attempts to help him restore his full memory. The rest of the story is good enough, even though it feels a little lacking in parts.
I didn't like...
Well not getting to actually see the Palami was a bit of a letdown, they get so much coverage and you don't really get to see them as such, pity that. The ending of the story was a disappointment as well, was hoping for something more. Shame.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read another Trek book, I'm interested in the Trek history of the mid to late 21st century because it's not all that far away in reality.
This Book made me feel...
Sore, my neck is killing me from reading it, hard to read it when you're sitting on a computer chair. Good though, it was a gift and I did enjoy the read.
The author of this Book...
No idea really, this is the first of his I've read and I do like his characters, he has a way of making you like them a lot. I think I'm going to enjoy his later works if he does more.
I recommend this Book because...
If you love Star Trek, then add this to your book collection. It's a graphic novel and the artwork is amazing, it's a gentle story that doesn't ask for much thinking, just sit back and enjoy.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you hate Trek, then don't bother yourself, really, it's a slow read, while gentle, and if you prefer your graphic novels to be all blood and gore, then maybe you should avoid this.
Further Comments...
I just got this as a gift from a good friend of mine in this site and I love it, while I'm not a fan of graphic novels, I prefer to imagine the settings, I did enjoy this. The artwork is beautiful and the Enterprise is really well shown off in here. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is a gentle and enjoyable read, just don't expect major action.
