A serial killer. It is written in a style not often seen. The killer, Martin Michael Plunkett, retraces his life. It begins when he is a child, and goes through his entire career as a serial killer. Although this book is fictitious, it does an excellent job of making Plunkett believable in a scary but never contemptuous way. In other words, it is like reading the mind of man that is very disturbed, but does not think so of himself.

I liked this book because it was a fascinating read. Most would feel that this novel is something only disturbed people would read, but anyone interested in psychology would read this. It is certainly not for everyone, but anyone brave enough to read it will not be disappointed.

It seemed just a little too disturbing sometimes. But it added to the effect.

Catch serial killers and put them behind bars.

James Ellroy is an extremely good author. Probably his most famous novel is L.A. Confidential, also an Academy Award winning motion picture.

It's a good, thrilling, and entertaining read. And you may just learn something about the criminal mind.

For anyone that does not like reading about killing. Do not get me wrong, I do not like killings, but this novel is highly interesting.

Usefulness rating because you actually learn from this book.
