Cameron Dean is the Big Man on Campus at his University. Star football player, handsome as sin, an I.Q. to dwarf Einstein, and a winning personality, he is every woman's dream and every man's idol.



One day, in the midst of one of the biggest games of the season, the other players on the team stop running in the middle of a play - literally stop in the middle of the field and stare. They tell Cameron that they had seen his father standing there.



The problem?



Cameron's father is dead.



Sure enough, Cameron's father has come back from the other realm to talk to him. You see, he's been murdered...and he wants revenge.



It seems that Cameron's Lesbian Aunt Claudia, in a fit of jealous rage and lust for Cameron's mother, killed his father with an undetectable poison. And Cameron, as a loving son, must see that she pays.



While Cameron and his best friend Harry try to decide upon a course of action, something extraordinary happens (if a revenge-wanting ghost isn't extraordinary enough for you!). Cameron gets summoned with his aunt and mother to a Lawyer's office. It seems that Cameron, as the only male heir to some unknown ancestor named Hamlet, has inherited over a billion dollars and a castle in Denmark.



What's a boy to do?



Putting the murder of his dear father on the back burner for a while, Cameron does the only thing a young man can in this siutation...



He throws a party.



Loading all his friends on a plane, he jets them off for a vacation at Castle Elsinore in Denmark. Seeing as they are necessary for the plot, he also brings his mother and his lesbian stepmother/aunt/father-killer.



Meanwhile, back at the peat-bog, archaeologiests have unearthed a magnificent find...the body of an ancient murdered woman. Wouldn't you just know her name happens to be...Ophelia? And of course, unearthing her from the peat also sets her spirit free. And dear Ophelia, still awfully mad at dear old Hamlet, returns to Castle Elsinore looking for revenge.



Isn't it a shame that Cameron happens to be the reincarnated spirit of some Danish Prince from long, long ago?



Cameron, along with gay football buddies Rosenberg and Gyllenhall, needs to save Cameron's fiance Sofia from certain death, keep Aunt Claudia from poisoning the party (literally), and defeat a centuries old ghost with a penchant for tearing off heads.



All in a day's work for the Globe University football team.

Comparing this to Shakespeare's masterpiece as I read. If you haven't already figured it out, this book is deliberately tongue-in-cheek. The author obviously had a blast in his little recreation.

This book takes a lot of suspenson of disbelief. For instance, none of the characters have ever heard of "this guy called Shakespeare" who wrote this history of the castle. And the way Hamlet's (or do I mean Cameron's) father was killed was really out there. Hint...it involves a painted turtle and a gila monster.

I've never heard of him before. Frankly, I probably never will again!

I only recommend this book if you are aren't turned off by gore (some seriously sick parts) and if you've got a sense of humor.



If you haven't read "Hamlet" (you know...the one by that guy Shakespeare), then some of this just won't be as funny to you.



This is not a serious piece of literature meant to edify your mind. However, if you want a bubble-gum novel that takes no mental work whatsoever (i.e. strictly entertainment value), then this book is for you.
