The fifth year of Harry Potter's at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Waizardry; the fifth of seven installments in this amazing story of a young boy in a world parallel to our own.



This year, Harry has to deal with a government conspiracy, criticism against himself and his friends, the confusing trials and tribulations of adolesence and his position in the wizarding world, as well as dreaded stadardized tests.

Most everything. I called the first book my favorite until I read the third; and now, I seem to have settled on a new favorite. It contained so much fantasy, intrigue, satire, emotion...



One of my favorites involved the mockery of the wizarding government; the antics of this governing body just seemed so familiar...

It intertwined the interference with education, the government's hold on the media, and its ways of using that control to twist the truth.

I can't complain much beyond the length of the book. But, alas, this is not a personal complaint; it's more geared towards the question, is this still a children's book? It's length is tremendous and its themes...so...deep and dark...

Think. Tell the world my thoughts. It's interesting how you can be sucked into a storyline, and then, as you close the book, it seems as though a huge rush of reality smacks you upside the head; but at the same time, you can'rt forget the world you just left.

I can't place the feeling. Too many thoughts whizzing around to describe in words...

I thought, had fell off her rocker...

and then I read this book. She incorperates amazing themes and resemblences to real world occuraces (Nazi Germany, for example), that it's very hard not to relate.

It not so much as teaches us a lesson, but shows us that even magical worlds aren't free of corruption and oppression.

This is one of those books like "The Catcher in the Rye" or "To Kill a Mockingbird". The only exception might be that it can touch more audiences earlier. It's one of those books that have underlying theme upon them, plot upon plot...and it's something we all can learn from if we dig deep enough, but can still enjoy even if we chose to stay at the surface.
