The first in the reverent series of brilliant satire by Terry Pratchett. It tells the story of Rincewind, an inept, cowardly wizard and his tourist friend Twoflowers as they travel the Discworld looking (or hiding as the case may be) for adventures.

Any fan of satire, fantasy, or just plain fun writing would love this and all of Pratchett's work. This is as good a place to start as any though

The manner in which Pratchett illicits the stereotypes not only in fantasy writing but in novel story telling in general and twists them to his will. His supreme sense of satirical humor is beautiful and will keep you reading

Read the next one all over again.

I laughed many times. This was a very lighthearted book, kept me happy for its duration
