The low rating for this movie is for both its writing and its acting. The supporting actors were decent and interesting, but Wagner and Crawford, particularly, were weak, even for Wagner and Crawford. Ebsen was good as was Gorshin. The transitions from present to past in the story line were so weak, they were funny. Most war movies from this period are good even without all the resources we have for movie making today. This one was barely okay, but really could have added a lot to enjoyability with a plot that was a bit harder to guess. If you try, and it wouldn't be too hard, you could provide the next line for most of the script. This even leaked over into the action a couple times. Well, if you like war movies from this era, the 50's, rent it to say you've seen them all. Otherwise, you won't miss much in skipping it. The best thing I could say for this movie is that if I could give zero as a rating, I would not have given it a zero. | ||
