Summary of this Book...
Rabble has been working with the Travelling Spectacular since the two owners, Tambor and Rylus, found her by the side of the road.

Rabble earns her keep fighting against any that dare-- and she has even learned to curb her habbit of just killing the competition, though she is known to get nasty if her opponent draws blood.

The life style has been fine to her it seems; but when an old farmer comes asking if she would hire on to protect an expedition he is setting up, she quickly agrees. Though she suggests that he hire Tambor and Rylus as well.

The details are worked out rather quickly; Tambor, Rylus, and the old farmer Hulhc become partners in the ventrure...

But it's more complicated than that. Because they are going to try to bring the missing magic back into the world, and because Rabble is more than she seems, and one of the things she seems to do well is get into trouble.
This type of Book is good for...
Entertainment! Something to sit down, or laydown and enjoy.
I especially liked...
I especially like the suspence. You know that there is a mystery about Rabble, but you try to figure it out, then wait for the other character to do so.

I reallly liked part of the author's writing; before each chapter their is a quote of some kind, sometimes by a main character, or just a saying from a country or song that may relate to the chapter.

The idea of "Ferman's Oath" where the mercenaries/military men and women take the oath to treat each other as brother(s) and sister(s) until their work is done. It just made things easier... the characters knew where they stood after taking the oath.
I didn't like...
What happened to Rabble's character. It couldn't really be avoided, but the I still wish things might have gone a little differently.

I know that sounds rather criptic; but that's the part I didn't like, and to explain what I mean would give away the story! I wouldn't want to do that. *Smile*
The author of this Book...
Has written other books I liked, so I thought I might try this one. It's an older book of hers.
I recommend this Book because...
I really enjoyed it, and I liked the writing style. It came out very well; I really liked the main-character quotes. It was a well written book, and I found it very enjoyable.
Further Comments...
I put the rated at PG-13 for violence. There are definate fights, and there is some magic; that's part of the mystery in the book.

The magic is supposed to have dissappeared, because spells and such don't work when tried; except in the book, sometimes they do.

It just was a good book. I would hope others would agree with me, but I think you should read it and find out for yourself.
