Summary of this DVD... | ||
Three convicts excape to search for buried treasure, encountering a cyclops, three sirens, and yes, a few other references to Homer's Odyssey. It is set in the South during the depression and has a slightly Three Stooges feel, too.
This type of DVD is good for...
Watching again and again. I have seen it at least ten times now, and every time I catch a new bit of dialogue or humor I had missed before. It is always good for a laugh.
I especially liked... | ||
I am not a fan of country-style music, but the bluesy/bluegrass soundtrack is awesome!
The cast of this DVD... | ||
I never cared for George Clooney, but he really grew on me in this movie. Also, John Turturro is a lot of fun in this one. John Goodman makes a great cyclops. :)
I recommend this DVD because...
It is funny, the music is catchy, and it is good for repeat viewing.
Further Comments... | ||
For the most part, it is family friendly movie. The KKK scene might be considered a little off-color, but the language is clean, and there is only a hint of sexuality.
