Summary of this Book...
Tangi Ellington’s modeling career is a fast paced whirlwind. She loves every minute of it until she wakes up one day and realizes that she doesn’t “want to be supermodel Tangi Ellington. She just wants to be Tangi.” The Caribbean’s Porta Plataea seems like the perfect place to get over herself and her botched relationship. Tangi ditches her name and becomes Jane, her vacationing persona. Steele McDeal, a DA from the Big Easy, who also wants to forget his hectic hard-nosed lifestyle, meets Tangi/Jane in Porta Plataea. Out of good fun he changes his name to John Doe and forms a pact with Tangi to remain nameless, and to not disclose their professions. As the old saying goes: What happens in Porta Plataea stays in Porta Plataea, so they depart the island with intentions to never see each other again. But as most great romances go, these two lovebirds are destined for each other. New Orleans awaits both of them. Family obligations, career pressure, and new loves hang around the bend. Will they find each other in the Big Easy? Will secret lovers become celebrated enemies? I won’t tell you, but you will be satisfied with its ending. I give the book a 3.5 rating. This book is cute and sweet enough for the purchase price. It is a plot driven piece with enough twists and turns to keep the average reader interested in its outcome. However, the characters develop rather slowly. I wasn’t interested in any of the characters till around the climax of the novel. The dark moment of this book wasn’t deeply felt. I wanted struggle with the character’s plight until the very end. There were other times in the book where the answers to some of the conflicts could have been settled in the dialogue between the characters. Moreover, I had some difficulty believing in the actions of some of the characters. Overall, it is a light and easy read with a few breaks in flow, because of typos. The theme
