Summary of this DVD... | ||
You probably know the story....Ne'er-do-well Clark Griswald wants to take his family on a summer vaction to Walley World (the movie's equalivent of Disneyland). Instead of flying there, he decides to drive from Chicago to Los Angeles. Whatever can go wrong, does. Clark deals with landing the in the inner city, uncomfortable in-laws, and The Girl In The Red Ferarri. Still, Clark is determined to give his family the best vacation of their lives.
I especially liked... | ||
There weren't many DVD extras, but I liked the commentary by the director & cast.
I didn't like... | ||
This is the 20th Anniversary Edition, I expected more extras.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
This has the original (and best) cast of the Vacation movies: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Dana Barron, and Anthony Michael Hall.
I recommend this DVD because...
It comes in letterbox and that is a plus.
Further Comments... | ||
This is one of my favorite films that makes fun of the All-American vacation. We, at one time or another, have taken vacations like this where the Dad is overexcited, the mom tries to keep perspective, and the kids are just being kids. Our family vactions (to me) were always a bust. I never enjoyed them and that is why I like this movie. It shows I am not alone. Of course, there are sequels, but this one is the funniest. There aren't many features on here to write home about, but I still got it because I love it. There is one change that has been made in the film: The song "I'm So Excited" has been taken out altogether. Instead, the song "Little Boy Sweet" by June Pointer (which was only in one scene in the original) replaces "I'm So Excited". If you are a die hard fan of the film, buy it.
