Summary of this Book...
The Louvre Museum's chief curator, who is a member of secret society that has existed since the death of Christ, is found dead and gruesomely positioned on the floor near The Mona Lisa. However, he leaves clues for his granddaughter to follow. The granddaughter, a brilliant cryptographer, along with a famed US symbologist, Robert Langdon, follow her grandfather's codes and leads, hoping that he will, through his death, finally tell her what he wanted to confide in her while he lived. The secret society included members such as: Leonardo Da Vinci, Boticelli, Gallileo, Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, Jean Cocteau, etc.

This quest for the killer turns into the quest for the Holy Grail. We learn about the secret of the Knights Templar, and the symbolism in many of the world's most treasured paintings, as well as architectural symbolism in some of history's most sacred churches. Of course, we also learn who committed the murder and why - although this is almost secondary next to the real epic mystery the novel uncovers.

This type of Book is good for...
action junkies, art historians, and adventurers
I especially liked...
The anecdotes on the works of DaVinci, the Crusades and the Age of Cathedrals. History makes too much sense here.
I didn't like...
I needed it to slow down a bit. The characters were not fully developed, because so much action was taking place.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the Bible and watch Indian Jones and the Last Crusade
This Book made me feel...
Like I was on the adventure
The author of this Book...
Dan Brown
I recommend this Book because...
It is a page turner. If you need a good read on a weeked when your hubby is away, this is the one. Get ready for the movie slated for 2005.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you are a Catholic or very religious, this book may mae you mad. As a Christian, I wasn't offended because I knew it was fiction, but if my mom read it she would protest.
Further Comments...
Can't wait for the movie? Who will be Robert?
