Summary of this Book...
A psychopathic doctor locked in a mental institution... A young FBI trainee hunting for a madman... A psychotic killer who just wants to be accepted... All the elements of a psychological thriller that you can't put down until an unexpected conclusion. Who knew terror could be so much fun?
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who loves a thriller or is interested in psychology. A warning: this book is very gory and mildly disturbing and should not be read by those who have a queasy stomach.
I especially liked... | ||
how the author, Thomas Harris, took me on a journey into the minds of Hannibal Lecter, Clarice Starling, and Jame Gumb. This element made me think of the story in a completly different way.
I didn't like... | ||
... Well, there was really nothing about this book that I could complain about. As I've said, Harris kept me turning the pages!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
go out and read Hannibal and Red Dragon, the sequel and prequel to The Silence of the Lambs. In fact, I'm reading Red Dragon now!
This Book made me feel...
nervous that Hannibal Lecter was going to pop out from behind the shower curtain... thoughtful... slightly disturbed (I don't think Harris is quite like Stephen King, for all you King fans; he's disturbing in a different way).
The author of this Book...
is Thomas Harris, author of not-to-many other books, mostly those in his Hannibal Lecter trilogy. Harris has a great writing style and I hope he continues his writing career!
I recommend this Book because...
it will kept you guessing until the last page and is a great read that will keep you thinking days... and nights later.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Again, I repeat: WARNING! This book is very gory nad mildly disturbing. It should not be read by those who have a queasy stomach or suffer nightmare problems.
Further Comments... | ||
I have never seen the movie version of The Silence of the Lambs, but since it is the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Movies of All Time list, I would assume it's good. Matter of fact, I'll have to check it out sometime...
