Summary of this Book...
Delia, our heroin, has married hastily and her husband has died suddenly after only 4 days of matrimony. Quite scandalous! Her husband has left her quite wealthy, but socially cut-off. But wait! Her husband was also an agent for the British Government and he died investigating some mysterious papers, which promptly went missing when he died. Now somebody wants those papers (as does the government) and its reported that they might be in Delia's new house in London. Another agent, and our hero, is assigned as her butler to discover the location of the papers. And of course they fall in love- but not as butler and mistress. They meet for real as lord and lady at a ball- and the web of deception is created. They get married and ultimately must disclose their many sordid secrets to eachother- will they be able to forgive? or will they be victims of love lost?
This type of Book is good for...
A quick read on a lazy afternoon.
I didn't like... | ||
The lack of plot! 350 pages of "I love you and you love me, so let's get married". More needed to be done with the "secret agent" stuff and less of daily discussions amongst family members.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Put it away or donate it! Not a re-read.
This Book made me feel...
eh | ||
