This is a 4 disk collection including several of the Thomas the Tank Engine shows. Each DVD features one of the little engines - Thomas, Gordon, Percy, and James. We got this for my 2 year old, and she loves it. In addition to the shows - apporximately 9 per DVD - there are also some great games to help with counting and other basic skills.

Children. They will love it! Those who are already Thomas fans will especially enjoy it, but even those who aren't big fans will most likely enjoy it.

The length. I know that you shouldn't use your television as a babysitter, but, well, that's life. With nine shows, my daughter is occupied for awhile and I can actually get some things done.

I also liked the games, which gave me some one on one time with my daughter that she enjoyed, and was easier than having her at the desk on the computer, because she could sit on the couch in the living room.

The fact that in the 'previews' they try to sell you on Thomas the Tank Engine; I've already bought it, thanks. Then again, I hate seeing soundtrack ads before I see the movie, so that's a general dislike.

Play the games with my little girl. They were really cute, and very helpful with number identification, etc.

All warm and squishy. While Thomas doesn't teach everything I would like, the characters are very realistic (vs. being 'perfect'); they make mistakes and then learn from them. Sometimes they don't (there is a lot of teasing going on), but overall, it teaches good things.

Is animated. But the voices include Alec Baldwin, who does a great job with a ton of different voices.

It is great for kids to watch, both for entertainment and for moral strengthening. Also, the games are fun.

The only reason I can think of is that your kids will be glued to the television.

This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it! It is neat to watch even as an adult, but is especially good, of course, for kids.
