This book is based on the life of Belgarath. It tells of when he first became a disciple of Aldur. When he met Poledra and married her, and when he first met his daughters Polgara and Beldaran. You also learn how much he had to sacrifice in his life for the Necessity.

knowing the thoughts and feelings of Belgarath. This book is written in first person, and it gives a personal feeling to it.

a lot of the repetition that happened. I know that history repeats itself, but I don't like to read about it repeating itself so many times.

reread the Belgariad series and reread Polgara the Sorceress.

sad at some parts, and a little depressed at the end. It does leave off with the feeling that everything is going to turn out for the best, though.

is definitely one of my favorites. His books are different from the others that you read and I like that.

it gives you some insight of how life is and how people are. It's also a great story to read, and if you've read the Belgariad you should definitely read this.
