The Giver is about a boy who lives in a Utopia Community where everything is perfect,equal,and there is no crime. Jonas, the main charecter, is assigned the job "The Reciever"! This is a big deal in the community as there is only 1 reciever! Jonas has to go day after day to the giver to recieve memories of the community, and the world as it was before everything was a utopia. Soon, jonas recives a special gift that only him and the giver have! As Jonas gets more and more memories, he wishes to seek a place where it is as it used to be! He and The Giver devise a plan so that he can escape the community and find elsewhere. The end of the book is very surprising and a bit confusing.

This book is good for peopel who like the idea of Utopias and like adventure.

I really liked the idea of a utopia

I didnt like the idea of people being "released". When this happens they are killed. it only happens to eldars, or people born with defects, or criminals.
