Summary of this Book...
Corrie Ten Boom is about fifty when she becomes a part of the resistance-- a very important part, running many of the programs that help Jews during the occupation of Holland.

Some of her stories are funny, though the background is very serious, and the book starts off with some of her childhood. Every short section becomes important, as you realize that lessons she learned early in life can deeply affect her decisions.

One day, when Corrie is sick in bed, it happens. The alarm goes off, and people begin to race around the house before she realizes-- that it is the thing they had been afraid of. She is taken to prison, and later, to a concentration camp with her sister Betsie. But this is not the end of life, and Corrie's faith in God grows she continues to learn more about God, people, and herself.
This type of Book is good for...
This is a historical book-- it gives you a good look at life during world war 2, and it is a very christian book.
This Book made me feel...
Possitive. It has some horrible things in it, but it still manages to give a possitve look at life.
The author of this Book...
The author, or main author, is also the main character. I had a lot of respect for her after I finished reading this portion of her life.
I recommend this Book because...
My family and I have all enjoyed it, and I really believe history and life lessons are good subjects for people to understand.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I would caution those who have negative feelings about Christianity that there are lots of christian values in here. Part of the appeal to some peole may be all the Christian values in the book's happenings.
Further Comments...
Survivors of World War II. How many of these people have come through that time period with a resulting love for all types of people?

This book gives a good sense of foriveness... because the main character lives for a period in a concentration camp and, when the war ends, tries her best to help all the people heal. She works to reach out to all groups-- prisoners, family members, men and women forced into hiding, the collaberators, and the Germans.

The personal look at this period of time is facinating and wonderful.
