Without giving anything away, let me just say that it is a different kind of Nicholas Sparks book, a kind of book that will surprise you because it is unlike all the others by the same author. I have to give him credit for breaking into something new. His novels were becoming a little predictable but this book is a cross between mystery/thriller and romance, making it a great book to read if you are looking for something different by a great author.

There is a thrilling plot to the story that you wouldn't expect from Sparks.

Well, the chapters were very short but the novel was very long. The action didn't begin until really far into the novel. I could have very easily gotten bored. Also, the point of view jumps too much in some places. Wow, I usually don't say I dislike so much about a Nicholas Sparks book!

Cry, because the ending is sad.

Sad and hopeful all at once. It's a weird feeling.

Is a great author! If you haven't read anything else by Nicholas Sparks, I don't think you should judge his writing style on this book alone. Read A Bend in the Road or the Rescue and then you'll see why he's so great!

It's a good story and good reading for when you're bored.

Some people could easily get bored by chapter five. I've also heard a lot of people say this was their first Nicholas Sparks book and they don't know if they will read any more. I've also heard Nicholas Sparks fans who were dissapointed by this book.

I'm not saying this book is TERRIBLE, just that it is a little less exciting than his other books. Don't expect good love scenes from this one! Sparks is a #1 best-selling author of probably every book he has ever written, so don't judge him for putting out one that isn't of his usual caliber. Praise him for doing something original and unexpected.
