Amelia "Mia" Thermopolis Renaldo is a normal teenager who lives in a renovated firehouse in Manhattan. Like every other teenager, she struggles with friends, crushes and algebra.

Then one day, while rock climbing at the local recreation center, Mia's mother tells her that her grandmother (on her diseaced father's side of the family) wishes to meet with her.

Mia visits her grandmother and finds out three life-changing details about her family members and herself. She finds out that:
Her grandmother is a Queen
Her father was a prince
And Mia is therefore a princess.

As if she doesn't have enough problems in her life, Mia has to attend princess lessons with a grandmother she cannot stand.

like I can relate to her. I may not have a royal family but I think all teenagers go through the struggles she does (crushes, fights with friends, hard school work, that girl or boy at school who tries to ruin your life)

(Meg Cabot) is a great writer and really sucks you into her stories.

I really enjoyed it and think others will too.
