Anne Lamontt teaches at UC Davis and writing seminars around the country. Her book takes you on a wonderful, vivid, and humourous cruise through her life as a successful writer. Her teaching gives insight into her methods, her frame of mind, and the form of her writing. Her examples, taken from her own life, make this book a very interesting and lively read.

Examples taken from her own life. Lamontt's writing is tight and well structured.

I found her discussion of real life experiences quite enjoyable, short academic discussions on publication just a little boring.
