Summary of this Book...
This is a compelling novel about mystery, friendship, yearning, and redemption. The Three Miss Margaret’s who are Miss Peggy, Dr. Maggie, and Miss Lil bit’ have been friends and confidantes, for thirty odd some years. And share a clandestine and illegal secret. A reporter posing as a stranger arrives in town wanting to learn about the mystery of The Three Miss Margaret’s. The reporter meets and questions Laurel Selene about them. She has spent her entire life nursing a grudge and her alcoholic mother who has raised Laurel to despise them. Laurel is on the verge of discovering what happened to swear the three to secrecy all those years ago. This novel is a page-turner that explores the sins of the past and how they reach out to affect the present. Through her fresh, funny narrative Louise Shaffer makes these characters shine. I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.
