To celebrate the complicated mother-daughter relationship, Lisa Delman started the Letters from the Heart Project(tm). An invitation for women to open their hearts by writing a letter to their mothers, the project received nearly a thousand letters from around the world.

Here, for the first time, is a collection of the most powerful and inspiring messages. In their own words, daughters share the stories and feelings they have kept inside for so long--as they recognize their mothers' sacrifices, forgive past hurts, overcome grief, and above all, honor the most important relationship of their lives.

About the Author
Lisa R. Delman launched the Letters from the Heart Project(tm) website, at the encouragement of her mother, to share the heartfelt letters she wrote during her mother's illness. Since then, she has received hundreds of "Dear Mom" letters from daughters around the world.
