Summary of this Book...
Would you put the future of the world into an untried and untested child? What about after he was secluded in a Battle School with other child geniuses where they learned battle strategies for an impending war against the "Buggers", an alien race destined to attack the world we know for a third time? Well Orson Scott Card, the author of "Ender's Game" did just that in the premise of this book.

Ender was a third child in a over-populated world, he was shunned by society and his family except for his sister, Valentine, whose love for him was also exploited by the group who wanted to put their faith in Ender to rid the threat of invasion.
This type of Book is good for...
I found this book formulistic and predictable and this even included the ending and the climax. As soon as Orson Scott Card introduced Ender’s last Command School teacher I knew that the battle simulations were a hoax to get Ender to save the planet without the moral complexities of destroying the lives of troops under his command and the lives of the aliens.
I especially liked...

I didn't like...
I didn’t like how predictable the story progressed. Card telegraphed the next event … For instance, during the last simulated battle where Ender’s army was outnumbered two to one, he instructed his group to make their way towards the enemy’s door with no regard for the number of people who where immobilized or frozen. At the last simulated battle at command school, Ender was also outnumbered and one of his pilots made the suggestion to go for the planet instead of fighting ship to ship.

I also didn’t like how Card didn’t really define “His” world like you see in most Fantasy and Sci-Fi novels.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
This book made me want to read something other than Sci-Fi or Fantasy as my next book.
This Book made me feel...
Disappointed that it didn't match up to the hype of the person who recommended I read it.
The author of this Book...
Orson Scott Card... author of "Pastwatch: Redemption of Christopher Columbus", a book of Card's which I actually enjoyed.
