Summary of this Book...
Siddalee Walker's play is a fantastic success, but a reporter from the New York times coaxes personal details from her and includes them in her review. Sidda's mother Vivi is deeply hurt by the information divulged and disowns her daughter... but then decides, at her friends' urging, to send her a scrapbook. As Sidda searches through this book of "divine secrets" we get to see those events in both Sidda and Vivi's memories, as well as from their friends' points of view.
I didn't like... | ||
I didn't like the fact that I watched the movie before I read the book. This ruined several of the twists in the plot, because I knew that they were coming... and I already had pictures of how the characters were based on the actors.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
When I finished this book I wanted to find more of the author's writing to read. I enjoyed her writing style and stories.
This Book made me feel...
This book made me laugh, cry, and throw pillows against the walls.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I don't recommend this book to casual readers; it is a story that you must invest yourself in... because there are so many characters and subplots.
Further Comments... | ||
The happy ending felt forced. I don't think I would be able to forgive my mother like that.
