Summary of this Book...
This is the Third Book in the very popular Tomorrow When The War Began Series. Taking place in Australia, Ellie and her friends have been reduced to only 5. 5 of a group that once had 8. In this third book, Ellie begins to realize that she would rather be in fear, because fear is her adrenaline, it's what keeps her going. They've been there for 6 months now, and they come to realize that it is time to make their biggest attack yet. Will they succeed? Will they be captured? In the prison, proves to be some of Ellie's worst memories, will she even make it out alive. Will any of them?
This type of Book is good for...
Most ages, in the third book it begins to deal with more devastating issues such as death. The first two books dealt with this as well but this one is much more graphic and descriptive. Considering Ellie is there when the accident happens. I suggest that unless you are easily disturbed then you should be able to read this book.
I especially liked... | ||
the feeling, like in all of John Marsden's books, he creates a magnificent atmosphere that any reader can get lost in. He makes everything realistic. Just because it's a bunch of teenagers in a war, doesn't mean that they aren't responsible. He lies out the facts plain and true to what it would be like. This is a real war in the story, full of tragedy and accepting yourself for what you have done.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Start the fourth one. I wanted to cry, but i wanted to be angry. The end of this book is devastating and you actually feel relief for what happened. And then you feel pain like you're actually experiencing it. It's amazing and i just wanted to sit and let it all sink in.
This Book made me feel...
The horror of this book, especially the end of makes it all to real. The feeling and the death and the pictures it creates make it amazingly wonderful. The emotions that John Marsden can enable a reader to go through are amazing. When reading this book you'll be sad, happy, angry, relieved and devastated. Devastated that such horrible things could ever happen.
The author of this Book...
is John Marsden. An Australian man who has written many successful titles such as Tomorrow, when the war began and the rest of the series. He has also written the Ellie chronicles, and new series for Tomorrow, when the War Began Fans. Among these works he's published such books as So Much to Tell You, Staying Alive In Year Five, Letters from the inside, Out Of Time and many other wonderful stories. I especially recommend Winter and Checkers. His website is www.JohnMarsden.com
I recommend this Book because...
as the third book it's not slacked even a little. It's my favourite in the series and i think it's just as good, (if not better) than the first and second. It's beautifully written and has an amazing story. You can't even describe how perfect it is.
Further Comments... | ||
Read it! I guarantee that you'll love it. Everyone who reads this will want to read the rest of the series and anyone who doesn't... well... i don't know why. Everything is perfect and you actually see the characters grow! And you feel yourself remembering or feeling the things that happen to them.
