Summary of this Book...
Neil Gaiman is the author of many Graphic novels, his most famous being, “The Sandman.” after which he moved on to write, 'Neverwhere' a dark fantasy novel based in the London underground.
With the release of “American Gods” Neil Gaiman has shown a mature side to his writing. I feel, “he hit his stride.”
American Gods is a dark, gritty tale filled with strange and unusual character's such as Mr. Wednesday, even the main character, 'Shadow' has a questionable past. From the very first page the reader can sense the bleak, dark tone this book will take on.
Mr. Gaiman takes his time with the development of character and place. To some, this may seem like long winded passages at times, but to those of us who enjoy good character development and scene we applaud the author for his vision.
I wrote this review spoiler free. I feel this is this best way to review a book. Giving away story line and plot is perhaps the biggest mistake one makes while writing a review for a book. I recommend this book to all horror/fantasy fans. It's a different approach for the world of fantasy, and a very entertaining read.

This book is intended for an adult audience. There is plenty of adult language and graphic scenes not suitable for children.
This type of Book is good for...
Adult reader's who enjoy horror/fantasy novels.
I didn't like...
Some of the graphic scenes caught me by surprise, such as the taxi driver. A bit too vivid for my liking.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read another Gaiman book, but nothing was available at the time.
The author of this Book...
Neil Gaiman
I recommend this Book because...
This book takes a new approach to dark fantasy, and Gaiman is a terrific story teller.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I do recommend this book.... *Wink*
