Summary of this DVD... | ||
The story of one of the greatest rock bands ever. A quasi-biography that is non-linear and confusing to non-fans, but is filled with brilliant musical performances and plenty of mouth from all four original Who members. Sadly, Keith Moon died right after the film was completed.
This type of DVD is good for...
Rock fans and historians.
I especially liked... | ||
The live performances from Woodstock, the Rock and Roll Circus performance of "A Quick One", and the Shepperton footage of "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O'Reilly".
I didn't like... | ||
Some of the segments with Keith Moon were sophomoric and tasteless--but hey, that was Keith!
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Learn even more about the Who.
This DVD made me feel...
Alive, happy, energetic, like dancing.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
The Who, Ringo Starr, Steve Martin, Timothy Leary, and various other friends.
I recommend this DVD because...
If you're a Who fan, it's a must-have. And if you have the video, you need to replace it, because this is the RESTORED DIRECTOR'S CUT.
Further Comments... | ||
Spend the extra bucks for the two-disc Special Edition; it has a great documentary on the restoration of the film, an interview with Roger, another with the director (Jeff Stein), a trivia quiz, and other fun extras.
