A serial killer is loose in pre-Katrina New Orleans, and his victims all have ties to the asylum where Abby Chastain's mother died twenty years ago.

Lisa Jackson's style is easy and enjoyable to read. She presents technical material relevant to the story in easy-to-understand terms without 'talking down' to the reader.

Ms. Jackson had a tendency toward rendundance in this book. I understood the reasoning behind rehashing certain plot points, but found it tiresome as well.

This was the first book I've ever read by Lisa Jackson, but I would happily read another. I found her style and characters engaging.

It is an engrossing tale of romantic suspense with well-rounded characters and an interesting plot with great twists.

I really must learn to be a mere 'reader' again, because for the third time in a row I found myself nit-picking a book I intended to read for pure enjoyment. As with the others, I found problem areas reminiscent of my own flaws, and wondered (again) how others get published with these flaws in the first place.

Despite that annoying habit I've picked up, I truly enjoyed the book and would happily read others by Ms. Jackson.
