Summary of this Book...
This novel is about a small town young woman who has a high-powered job in the big city. When she needs a break from her hectic life, she takes the summer off and goes home to her small, Outer Banks town where she grew up. There, she unexpectedly meets a man who is not who he seems, but will, nevertheless, irrevocably capture and lay claim to her mind and heart.

I especially liked... | ||
It was a short and easy read. The setting was spectacular. The tale takes place in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I happen to live. She did an excellent job of bringing the coast and small town living to life.
I didn't like... | ||
It took me reading nearly halfway through before I got the hang of this author's writing style. The dialogue was unconvincing. The situations were contrived. The characters were unbelievable and lacked depth.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Thankful I had borrowed it from the library instead of spent money on it.
This Book made me feel...
Very disappointed. I had never read this author's work before, but for a best-selling author with a strong readership, I expected to be blown away. Instead, I was sorely let down.
The author of this Book...
This author can write. She can tell a story that makes you read or else I wouldn't have bothered to finish reading it. I'm hoping this was just a fluke, but sadly, I don't intend to find out.
Further Comments... | ||
The story had enormous potential to be fantastic, and was thoroughly intriguing in concept, but the author just seemed to rush through it, and didn't give the characters or the scenes the attention they deserved.
