This is a beautifully written story about modern life and human failure. The gripping story follows three very different families whose lives intertwine around power, money, and a tragic accident.

This is a character driven novel with such well developed characters. It grabbed me with the first page and I couldn't put it down.

The story is told through different points of view - two men, a woman, and a teenage girl - yet the flow is perfect.

I wanted to start all over and to have the story be brand new to me again. I hated to finish yet I couldn't stop reading.

I felt very involved with the characters, and I was moved to tears by the end.

This is the first book I have read by Stephen Amidon, but it will not be my last. His previous books Include The New City and Subdivision

It is a beautifully written, beleivable story.
