This type of Book is good for...
This is a great classic, this version is meant for the student studying early modern english literature. There are many notes on the text to guide the reader through the story. Notes are all at the end of the book and so do not "take over" the text as it is being read.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read more of Swift's work and other early modern authors.
This Book made me feel...
Glad I had taken the time to read it.
The author of this Book...
Jonathan Swift lived in the early 18th century. Gullivers travels was first published in 1726.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a very enjoyable read, not a childrens book but definately meant for the adult reader.
Further Comments... | ||
There are many parallels to the British parliament in this book. It is believed that some of the references to obscurely named places are actually direct references to Britain, France, British members of the House, French leaders and politicians etc...
