Summary of this Book...
A memoir of how anger has shaped her family and life; the good side of anger and how sometimes anger can lead to a train wreck and many people not forgiving you. This is a self help book that gives advice on how to control anger and when it is useful.
This type of Book is good for...
Self-help about your anger and depression. Gillespie tells the story of her life and how anger has shaped her. She then gives us tips on how she is trying to improve on her anger and anger sometimes is good; if you know how to use it effectively (which she teaches).
I especially liked... | ||
I like how Gillespie included other narratives from other people that were just as "pissed off" as her. It really shows how anger affects people and that you're not alone.
I didn't like... | ||
She got into a lot of graphic details about her past relationships. It is necessary, but some of them were just too graphic.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to write my own memoir and self-help book. I'm an angry/ depressed person and I felt like I wanted to help other people too. I also suggested this book to many of my friends.
This Book made me feel...
Like I wasn't alone or crazy.
The author of this Book...
Spike Gillespie. | ||
I recommend this Book because...
It really shows people that anyone can get angry, but it depends on how it is handled. A lot of people handle it the wrong way, which makes situations much worse. Gillespie offers us lessons on how to chill out a bit and search for inner peace (she hated Catholicism and found comfort in Buddhism).
