Leonard Bishop has provided very concise and clear short sections on just about everything you need to improve your writing. This includes personal advice on budgeting your time, and practical writing skill development like how to start a story.

...reading one article a day. It is so jam-packed with info, it will be hard to absorb all at once (the exception being those who have a photographic memory; I'm not one of them). Inside a year, your writing will improve dramatically.

...Bishop's no-bullshit style in telling it like it is. Too many writing how-to books focus so much on positive reinforcement that they give an unrealisitic field-of-poppies vision of the writing world. Bishop describes it for the boxing ring that it is, and furthermore gives you the skinny on how to win.

...the fact that Bishop said breaking into a liveable income with writing as your sole means of income would be brutal work. It was, however, something I needed to hear.

...begin reading a section a day all over again. I probably will as long as I am breathing.

This book should become a part of your how-to library immediately. Get rid of the touchy-feely crap and replace it with this.
